Out of the mouth of Ben

Benjamin is always saying the funniest things. Here are some of his recent hillarities:
Ben: Mommy can I have some yogurt?
Me: Nope, sorry Charlie.
Ben: I not Charlie, I a kid.
,

Me:(during a mild road rage attack); You dumb a**, WTH is your problem,
Ben: That truck mean
Me: Yeah, that truck wants a smack in the face
Ben: (making wild punching actions) Yeah, take that truck, I hit you.

Josh: I will get you! pew pew pew(imagine him running around with a nerf gun chasing Ben simulating the noise a gun makes)
Ben: No, I am going to pew you.

These are just a few of my favorites over the last few days. Joshua is always famous for saying quirky things too. For instance.....

Today, Joshua wanted to stay over at his friends house rather than going to church. When he came home after we got back from church Jason was teasing him and told him that Jesus missed him at church.

Josh: He was there !!!?!??!! (very serious)
Me: He is always there.
Josh: Oh yeah, cuz that's where he lives.
Me: Well, yeah, but Jesus also lives in you.
Josh: So, Jesus told me not to go to church?
Me: (absolute silence followed by laughter, I am not really sure how to answer that one)

It's Been Awhile.....

Well, let's see it has been some time since I last updated our blog. Joshua is now obstruction free and we are working daily to keep him that way. Poor guy, he was a trooper through the whole ordeal. When the obstruction was free and clear he looked up at me and said, "You know, that wasn't so bad" Whew.....I am glad that is over. We have been keeping plenty busy. Joshua started "spring training" for baseball. He is so excited and might I mention that our little guy looks so cute in his little baseball pants. He is actually doing very well. Last weekend, he impressed the coach by hitting a "coach pitched" ball the first time he tried. He actually does better that way than with the tee. Baseball will taking up a lot of our time this spring. The fundraising has already started and we will be hitting up any and all family members. This is your warning! Haley starts soccer April 24 and she is really excited. Maybe now that she is a little older she will do more playing the game and a little less picking flowers and playing cheerleader to her teammates. Benjamin is currently working on potty training, well actually Mommy and Daddy are doing most of the working, Ben is more than happy to stay forever in diapers. We will keep you updated, helpful advice (short of tying him to the potty we will try anything) is always welcome. lol Ella turned 9 months old today. I can not believe how fast the time is flying. She is so sweet, although I think she might be even sweeter if she would say mama for once instead of saying dada all the time. Jason had carpal tunnel surgery on his left hand last Wednesday and is recovering very well. He was actually very excited to have it done since he had such dramatically good results from his right hand. Well, that's all for now-

Bowel Obstruction

We took Joshua to the doctor yesterday because he has been having some gastrointestinal issues. We found out that he has developed a bowel obstruction. Due to the bowel obstruction the muscles and nerves in his rectum have basically become paralyzed. We are going to try to clear it with the help of Miralax and good 'ol Fleets enemas. Poor guy. Please keep Joshua in your prayers so that this will take care of the problem and he will have a speedy recovery.  Just look at this kid, you know he isn't going to let something like this keep him down.

Happy 6th Birthday Joshua!

Joshua Robert celebrated his 6th birthday on Tuesday March 2. He woke up in the morning and enjoyed opening presents and eating pancakes. Daddy worked from home that day so he got to share in the festivities. Aunt Jessi came down and surprised Joshua by picking him up from school and taking him out to lunch at Red Robin. She got him a very cool dinosaur book too. Later in the afternoon, Joshua's friend Logan came over and played and ate cupcakes. Then we went to Ben and Ari's (imagine Chuck E Cheese without the characters) and had pizza and played games. We were the only people in the whole place so we got all the games to ourselves. Joshua got so many cool gifts. He got new clothes which he desperately needed, transformers, books, Legos, a zhu zhu pet, a board game, and lots of other neat stuff. He is looking forward to having Grandma DeeDee come down this weekend and celebrate with us. Joshua says he is going to help me make his cake. When we asked him where he wants to go for dinner with grandma he said he is thinking Chilli's or Applebees. Way to think big there Josh! lol He is so funny, he also said he wouldn't mind just going to Taco Bell. Hmmmm.....I don't think Grandma is going to go for that.

Kitchen Overhaul

Last weekend we decided to makeover our kitchen. We replaced the countertops and sink and added in a tile backsplash. It looks great. Jason did a great job. There were a few minor surprises along the way. For instance, the sink we bought is bigger than the one we had so the pipes did not quite fit. Jason had to redo the plumbing under the sink then which we weren't really anticipating but it worked out in the end. I think we made about 17  trips to Lowe's while working through our little project. There is always something we forget when we go. The good thing is now they know us by name there. lol. The kids may have overheard some colorful language throughout also, but hey that makes them more cultured right?!?! hahaha Anyway, we are very happy with the way it turned out. What do you think?

Weekend Outlook

Well, Haley was not selected to move on to regionals for the science fair, but we are still so proud of her. We are looking forward to the weekend.....we are contemplating a kitchen project. It could get interesting. We would like to replace the countertops and add in a tile backsplash. Sounds easy enough....we shall see.
